Mango flowers,a big spray of flowers for one miserable mango.
We seldom appreciate these flowers when in fact it is from these that those sweet mangoes we crave for are coming from.
ReplyDeleteWhat a moving post.
I am always happy why I see that my parents mango tree is producing flowers when I was a kid. I can't wait for the fruit and climb the tree.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a mango flower before. It is good to learn something new ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo this is how the flowers look like, never seen them before.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, such a long spike of flowers for just one fruit.
Thanks for sharing it.

ReplyDeleteWOW - I haven't seen these since I moved to the states from Ghana.. Brought me back home.. GREAT showcase.. Lovely flowers.. : ))
ReplyDeleteWow I love mangos but never seen a tree. That was cool.
ReplyDeleteOh my just looking at the flower and the fruit make me missed the Philippines. It is a very common sight over there and yes I love mango too.
ReplyDeleteAbout my red mums I bought just this fall and I happened to know that they come back every year, in fact, a friend of mine gave me several mums of her, because it just thrive like crazy and you have to get rid of some. I bought several colors and hopefully they will come back next year. I have pineapple mums (as what they call) and the color is so pretty. And why I am inclined to plant many mums this year because they were on sale for only a $1 each pot. Now who does not get crazy of the price hehe. Happy weekend!
«Louis» had never seen a mango flower until now. Mango is one of his favorite fruits. He understands why they are so popular in so many cuisines.
ReplyDeleteYum!

ReplyDeleteOh my, Ann... a mango could never ever be miserable, certainly not the ones I savor here in the Philippines!
ReplyDelete[With help from blogger friends, I've identified all my flowers today and updated my post. :-) ]
PS. I added a photo of the fruit for you. They look like tiny cucumbers and one of the common English names is cucumber tree. I should have added a shot of them in my montage. And yes, as Andrea mentioned, it's sour and used in sinigang, a very sour Filipino soup. :-)
ReplyDeleteNeat that they grow in your climate.
ReplyDeleteIt is too cold in Auckland for mangoes. This photo was taken in Malaysia.
