I grew a big patch of sunflowers and I was very proud. But I as disappointed I didn't grow a big flower. In Singapore, I grew some. My friend B commented that she didn't have go to Japan to see Sunflowers. She only had to look out of her kitchen window to my garden.
Now in Auckland, a stroll in the suburban will show you 10 inch wide sunflowers.

Sunflowers in Aotea Square, Auckland Town Hall.
I placed my hand to show how big the flowers were.

There are all different kinds and sizes of sunflowers. Just because yours are small doesn't mean they are less pretty!

Our sunflowers did NOTHING last year, and it was a heartbreaker. I love them. We will try agin come spring....thought it is to get up to 60 degrees today. We have had one snow and the daffodils and crocus are up on March 3. It is hard to believe. Hope you have a wonderful week. Sorry I have been out of touch but have created a disaster with the computers and it took a good week to repair it all. Your sunflowers are beautiful. genie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and I can never cease to be amazed how huge they are.
ReplyDeleteI like yours more than the bigger ones in the park. It's really quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThey really are quite large. I look forward to planting some more of my own this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit Ann. The one photo was not a painting but I used textures to add to the photo to make it look that way. :)
The ones I grew were small.
ReplyDeleteNice big ones!
