Page Anchor

http://annkschin.blogspot.co.nz/2018/04/page-anchor.html

Here's me at one of my book launches. It is a joy to see readers holding my book as though it is so previous. I have appeared on National Television, Radio, workshops and book exhibitions.

As a published writer whose books are circulated in public libraries, my pet peeve is to see people folding corners of books, some even fold pages into two and or bend the spine.

Books are expensive, it is hard work writing a book. A book deserves the respect to keep it in good condition.

Here is a new product , page anchor which will make writers, librarians and yourself happy, because it keeps your book in a pristine condition.

Page Anchor is a premium-grade, anchor bookmark that prevents your book from closing. An elegant tool to transform the way you read.
By removing the need to push books open with your thumb, Page Anchor elevates the experience of using everything from hardcover and paperback books to journals and cookbooks.

Page Anchor works with any book size, without damaging your book's spine.

Earth day

Earth Day.

I used to write blogs on Save the Earth. This disposables cup is made of a plant, not oil https://www.ecoware.co.nz/category/coffee-cups/

The paperboard we use in our coffee cups provides superior quality and increased insulation compared to the average paperboard on the market.
Our paper is sourced from responsibly managed plantations and lined with naturally advanced Ingeo™ bioplastic. It also has a significantly lower carbon footprint than the fossil fuel based polymers that it replaces, because the manufacture of Ingeo™ emits fewer greenhouse gasses (GHGs) than the comparable manufacture of all common petrochemical-based plastic1. This innovation of turning plants into plastic allows us to exclude non-renewable resources (such as oil) from the production of our EcoCup.

Overseas and my latest book

More than 100 years ago, in 1907 to be precise, my Great Grand Father led a group of immigrants Overseas to uncharted land of Borneo.

Then in 1970, my brother Charles went on his Overseas journey to New Zealand.

I follow suit to my Overseas journey to Canada in 1975.

At last, my latest Book, "Growing up in Borneo" is ready.  It talks about all the Overseas journeys of my siblings.

My thanks to Eve Leong for making her butterflies. They gave me inspiration. The butterfly is a symbol of Hope, Life and Endurance to the bereaved.

post card from 60 years ago.

I am a person of nostalgia. Most of my writing is about Nostalgia.
My cousin Cecillia went to her brother's house and saw two 60 years old postcards. It was posted by my Dad 60 years ago to my uncle David from England.

I was so happy to know, my cousin Vincent kept them. Cousin Vincent is the nephew of Uncle David. It was Vincent's sis Cecillia who posted this photo to me. Things like these are very precious to me, because our own things had been eaten by termites.

Processed pickled mango

Maf said New Zealand's strict biosecurity regulations were to keep the country free of pests and diseases that could seriously damage our environment,  The American actress Hilary Swank has been fined $200 and ordered to pay $30 in costs after she failed to declare an apple and an orange when she arrived at Auckland International ......

My  ESOL student smuggled that her two semi-ripe mangos were processed mango pickles.
