Red: Curry tree fruits.

My curry tree produced fragrant leaves, people came from far and near. It became a communal tree. When I left Singapore for NZ, my downstairs neighbour wanted to own it. I said yes, but my friends should be allowed to pluck from it. 6 years later, I went back to visit. It was a sorry sight. The tree missed his mummy (me) and her green thumb.

The writer weaves these issues with the coming of a Filipino Mail order Bride to the troubles of her delinquent daughter.

The North Borneo Orchid,
my Dad used to grow.
When I was young,
the plant bloomed once in ten years.
They were pure white.

Now, there are lots of hybrids,
of all hues.
They bloom all the time.
They don't beat the ones my Dad grew,
the pure white ones.

 this Auckland Anniversary day, we saw the planes. It was 

like an advance celebration. At CLN chinese class, the 

founder said I look very happy. I told him I was,Kylie

and so happy because my writing is validated.
