Macro Flower Saturday

Little birds
Stay and don't fly away/

Heliconia in my garden when I was at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
They "flew" away when the gardener was told to chop the plant down.
We had a cat and mouse with the authorities.

They look like beautiful birds, who would want to chop down such things? Did anyone take any to plant? It was all thrown away?

When I was living in Singapore 1990-2006, the university gave us apartment housing, there were land in front and at the back of the apartments. Some of us residents planted plants. The university wanted uniformity. They allowed only the plants their gardeners planted.

They relaxed the rule, only the landed facing the road are not allowed. My heliconia was in front facing the bush. Was I angry when I woke up one morning because some zealous gardener chopped it down.
