Ruby Red/Rednesday/watery Wednesday: Ruby for keeps.

Twenty one years ago, when I left the familiar New Zealand to a new country Singapore, Diane was one of the first ruby gems I picked up. It is her birthday today.
It's not only a lot of water has flowed under the bridge, but oceans of currents had physically divided us. But Diane's ruby had never lost it's shine. She was a comfort when I was still grieving.
We were not to know that sadly she and her daughter in law would join my infamous club of bereaved mum and grand mother.
Diane, happy birthday. You will always have a place in my heart.
These photos were taken on our way to your place. I didn't tell you, we took a wrong turn and met some very handsome man playing Aussie style of "hot curling." They even invited us to have a game with them. You can tell a story of Australia without the beach and water.

Happy B'day to Diane.
Never heard of that game before...
Happy birthday to your friend Diane.
Tell her happy birthday for me. You two have a bond of sorrow that nothing can break.
