The name delphinium comes from the Greek word delphis, a reference to the flower's resemblance to the bottle-like nose of the dolphin.
I am not very sure if this is Delphinium. A florist said it is. Will some one please confirm?
At Bastion Point, they grew lots of this.

Yes, they are delphiniums but a beautiful cultivar, not the wild one.
This double petaled variety is gorgeous. Despite their delicate look, they are hardy flowers.

Primrose (Primula) and evening primrose are totally different species, they have nothing in common.While evening primrose has a lovely scent, the flower and the foliage are not at all showy.

These are grown in a public park where almost every tourists to New Zealand are taken too. The flowers are in top condition. They rotate the kind of flowers, so at different seasons, they grow different flowers.
They are so beautiful! love their gorgeous colours.

I had never seen delphiniums till I went to the garden at the college. They are beautiful flowers, and some of the colours can be so intense! I love the way you have photographed them!
