Seasons in the sun.

http://youtu.be/cd_Fdly3rX8  I am doing a course in teaching English as a Second Language. I just completed a task on teaching the Seasons as a Science subject. I chose to do a coffee table format. Most of the photos I used, you have seen on my blog posts. If you remember my spring post recently on Spring, I included my Japanese song.

Haru Ga Kita (Spring Has Come)

Haru ga kita
Haru ga kita
Doko ni kita?
Yama ni kita
Sato ni kita
No ni mo kita
It was fantastic to receive an accolade. The presenter was pointing towards my direction, but I didn't think she was referring to me, until she mentioned the duality map that I used. By then, everyone was laughing and calling out the one who was wearing the red jacket. At the end of the session, I went to apologize to her that I didn't realise that she was mentioning me. She apologized that she didn't know my name.

I like this song, one that I hear when I was in school. This song would of course not be appropriate to use to teach little school children. Of course, as an adult theme, we could apply it to seasons of our life.

Seasons In The Sun Lyrics

Goodbye to you, my trusted friend.
We've known each other since we're nine or ten.
Together we climbed hills or trees.
Learned of love and ABC's,
skinned our hearts and skinned our knees.
Goodbye my friend, it's hard to die,
when all the birds are singing in the sky,
Now that the spring is in the air.
Pretty girls are everywhere.
When you see them I'll be there.
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun.
But the hills that we climbed
were just seasons out of time.
Goodbye, Papa, please pray for me,
I was the black sheep of the family.
You tried to teach me right from wrong.
Too much wine and too much song,
wonder how I get along.
Goodbye, Papa, it's hard to die
when all the birds are singing in the sky,
Now that the spring is in the air.
Little children everywhere.
When you see them I'll be there.
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun.
But the wine and the song,
like the seasons, all have gone.
Goodbye, Michelle, my little one.
You gave me love and helped me find the sun.
And every time that I was down
you would always come around
and get my feet back on the ground.
Goodbye, Michelle, it's hard to die
when all the bird are singing in the sky,
Now that the spring is in the air.
With the flowers ev'rywhere.
I whish that we could both be there.
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun.
But the stars we could reach
were just starfishs on the beach

This is one of my husband's favorite songs. It was very popular when we were teens.
You have a very nice display for the seasons. Congratulations on the reward for them, even if they didn't know your name.

I loved this song when I was young. I was sure I was going to enjoy it today, and I found I was crying. Must be this rotten cold I have. I couldn't even think of anything to post for Thursday Theme Song.
Thanks for posting this beautiful song. And congratulations on your success in ESL.

You're so creative, Ann.
It's a pity I don't know the song.

Thanks for dropping by :)
