Flowers, Sands Manukau

It's ok to cry and the beautiful women.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZk9w-uywAs&lr=1&user=asiadownunder

I saw these plant with flowers growing on a footpath.
To me they look beautiful.
You can wear them like a necklace.
Sadly their beauty are often overlooked.

I think of the Sands Members who work so hard in their voluntary.
I think of Sarah who at all hours of the day.
I think of her driving to the hospital.
To meet and comfort parents facing the death of their baby.
I think of Sarah going to meet  newbie bereaved parents.
I think of Sarah driving to a coffee group for the bereaved.
I think of Sarah driving to a monthly meeting.

Toyota NZ is giving cars to charitable organisations.
I think how great if Sands Manukau wins one of the car.
A New Zealand Facebook owner can make that possible.
If they will just click and vote once.

Skywatch frieday at Coyle's Park In Auckland.

The sky behind the climbing tree.
We have been getting such hot weather
 that we looked fried.
Hence Frieday.
We are officially in drought in many parts of New Zealand.
We are fried.

Wednesday: watery outdoor wordless.

Joseph loved pets, even now, though living in a very exclusive part of Australia, he has hens, it is a bit like the TV show green acres.

The best story we all remember of Joseph and his pets is this one.

We always had chicken for meat and eggs when I was growing up in Borneo. That proud rooster was the stud, and he never failed to crow, rain or shine. My brother Joseph considered it to be his pet.

One morning, the rooster did not crow. He was dead. We couldn't believe how a healthy rooster could die just like that.

Mum conjectured that it was poisoned. Cock fighting is a gambling game involving a lot of money. Some men had on the previous day approached Mum and offered her a very good price for our handsome rooster. But Joseph refused to part with his pet. Mum wanted the money, but she loved her son more, so she declined the offered. The vindictive men probably came and poisoned poor rooster since they couldn't have it.

Joseph held his dead pet and cried.

My new book: From China to Borneo to Beyond

The cover of my book is a painting by my late Father. He was painting an orchid. The white North Borneo orchid was his favourite. When he died, my sister Margaret tried to look for this orchid. In the whole of kuching city, there wasn't one bloom. Now I am sending this to all my siblings and nieces and nephews and children who contributed to the publication of this book.
Hot off the press, my books are ready to be released. This book would not have been possible without the hundreds of emails and telephone calls.
