ABC Wednesday: Letter B

This is technically NOT a BED. When I saw Mrs. Nesbitts' poor cat Ella all cramped in a round pot as a bed, I told her that I will cyber Ella a more comfortable bed.

This is a Chinese BUN called BAO. This is eaten by the Northern Chinese. They call them a Flower Bao. After kneading, they score lines on the dough. When it is steamed, the lines open up, and hence a flower. It is eaten in place of rice with meat or vegetables.

ABC Wednesday is hosted by Mrs. Denise Nesbitt

I normally post this meme on my Photos site, but decided to do it here as it is a food.
Denise, I hope Ella will have a good night sleep and she has plenty of room to stretch her legs. This pot is 6 inch by 10 inch. The pattern is not exactly like yours, but the colour looks alike.

A lovely bed pot for lovely Ella! The Chinese Baos look delicious! I love Chinese food!
How far is Norway from the Netherlands. Well it took us a day to go to Denmark and another day to go to the south of Norway by car. Bergen is more northwards and will need another day's travelling I guess. We flew to Bergen of course.

Hi Ann your Bao looks like siopao in the Philippines. Siopao has a filling inside like pork or chicken and it's really good too. Happy Wednesday!

The clay pot must warm up as Ella curls inside of it...no wonder she loves to bed down there.
The BAO look delicious...I will have to ask my son if he is familiar with eating those in China. He is home again., but will be returning soon to teach again.

Cats do seem to like tight spaces, don't they? The picture is very cute. The Bao rolls look so good that I want a taste of the dough. I would like to see the finished product, did you make them? I love bread, and can almost smell them now!

Love the pottery "bed" and the rolls look yummy.

The pottery bed is a delight - and the buns look wonderfully delicious. Good B's.

The pottery bed is pretty, but surely needs some soft cushions!

I thought at first the buns were tiny cushions for the bed. LOL!

You asked about the balancing rock. Yes my son balanced it. He has done many with 4 or 5 balancing. I guess its all a matter of physics.
Thanks for asking.

Sio in Cantonese means roasted. In Malaysia and Singapore, they call it char Siew bao. They use BBQ pork. Many Chinese migrated to the Philippines and I guest they brought their culinary delights.

Traditonally, they are steamed, but some people also bake them, like a pie.

Jay, I am sure Ella would love the Bao mattress especially when they are still warm and soft. I have another cat story, Many years ago, we parked our car in a porch. Every morning, we get cat paw prints on our bonnet. Our neighbours' cat found it's niche, a 5 star hotel. LOL
