kuching flower Ylang Ylang

In July, I was visiting Kuching. Rose took me for Dimsum and we came across this dwarf Ylang-Ylang (Cananga odorata var. fruticosa) is producing a lot of blooms now.
It is most fragrant when the flowers have matured from green to a ripe yellow colour.

Kuching flower with rose.
The essential oil derived from the flowers is used in aromatherapy. In the old days, ladies pluck the flower and put it behind their ears to smell beautiful. Rose and I were good girls, we didn't pluck the flowers, My bro-in-law was signalling us not to. He said, it would be embarrassing if we get caught. I cheekily said, I would say, my bro-in-law Rose's husband is a principal. He said, if I went to jail, I would be late for my flight home.
Welcome to a new edition of NF Blo-Ma. A meme all about Flowers and Macro shots. The name might need an explanation for international players. Blo comes from the swedish word for flower, blomma and Ma is for macro. English translation would be Flo-Ma but that does not sound so good in Swedish so Blo-Ma it is. Thanks everyone who joined last week. http://nfmemes.blogspot.co.nz/
