Macro Flowers: Wild flowers in New Zealand bush

Macro Flower Saturday
Macro Flower Saturday Macro Flower Saturday ">
I saw these beautiful flowers, all in the same bush in a New Zealand bush/jungle/forest. All three were formed differently from the others, but they were very beautiful. I have not tried to look for their names.

Hi Ann,

These flowers are from the tree fuschia (scientific name: fuschia excorticata ) (Maori name: Kotukutuku)

It is the world’s tallest fuschia (up to 12 m) and is found throughout new Zealand.

The berries can be eaten, either raw or made into a jam. The wood is very difficult to burn.

Cheers

Warren

Lovely photos Ann. These are Leycesteria formosa (Himalayan Honeysuckle, Flowering Nutmeg, Himalaya Nutmeg or Pheasant Berry). The pink parts are bracts, while the bell-like white parts are the flowers.

Thank you for participating in Floral Friday Fotos!

Nixblog, you are spot on, I check with flicker, it looks as though some one went to the same spot as me amd photographed the flowers.
