Macro Flowers:Kalanchoe thyrsiflora, flat succulent

Last September, I posted photos of Kalanchoe thyrsiflora, which I was very proud of. Unfortunately, the plant has grown tall and not as beautiful as before. It has lost much of its red color. However, she has made me a grandmother with two babies.

May be it is due to the very wet and cold weather we have been having.

The 3 photos below were from last year's post.

I am the proud owner of this unusual succulent. It has red edges and is bigger than the size of my palm. It has fleshy, paddle-like leaves that resemble the shape of a clamshell as though I am closing my palms together.

Sorry I can't tell you the name, Do you know? I googled the images, but can't see any like this, It might be a flapjack but it is definitely not a rosette.

That is Kalanchoe thyrsiflora - I have it on my wish list for sure. What a great plant in mixed planters with Echeveria and other succulents.

Ann; thanks so much for the heads up about your plant - I love how the leaves lie flat against one another, so differently arranged than some of the rosette forming succulents. The way they look in the bigger picture (with the taller growth) is awesome - it looks like fish scales. Very nice; it looks so healthy.

I love how the new little plants grow from the base, they look great.

Interesting looking plant! I think there's similar variety here, with leaves more circular and forming a rosette. I did bought a small pot unfortunately it died a couple months after I bought it.

Very unusual plant, and so pretty. I like the reddish color against the light green. My mother had a lot of different kinds of succulents, but I can't grow them at all. My black thumb rubs off on them. ;(

It's amazing how fast it grows, this plant grows by us very slowly.
I remember your previous post and I have its name in my computer but I'm on my laptop now. I'll send you the name tomorrow.
Great shots!

Beautiful form and color in this plant! In answer to your question, I don't know if Deadly Nightshade is like, or related to, potato flower??? Thanks for stopping by my blog :)

I especially like the shot looking straight down into the petals(?) of the flat cactus. I hope Channal helps you identify this since she has one too.

Nice shot Ann, I'm with you I don't think the wet weather is helping any of our plants at the moment.

I had some kalanchoe, but they needed so much care. Too much watering might kill them. Wait for the blooms. Pretty.
