Watery Wednesday: Weir

At Western Springs, there are many natural lakes. They used to supply drinking water for Auckland City. But as the city grew, to more than a million, lots of industrial areas sprout up, and they pollute the water. We no longer drink from here. The water drains to the sea, but not before the water passes over the crest.

When we go for a leisurely walk at this beautiful park, I also get a hydraulics lecture from the water engineer. Actually, now I know all about a weir, but I pretend I don't. LOL

Very interesting post. Thanks for your visit and for mentioning silkworms. I didn't even know their was a connection between them and mulberry trees until I googled after you commented.
