This plant represents my Pasifika students. It comes from from Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and other Pacific islands. It is the Barringtonia edulis or cut nut in Hawaii or /vutu-kana-,
The nuts can be eaten raw or cooked,is a good source of energy.

Interesting looking plant.
I've never heard of this fascinating looking plant...wish I knew what it tasted like. Most interesting.
