Guangzhou(Guang Zhou,) previously known as Canton is along Pearl river. There are ten bridges spanning across the river. The Pearl River has a length of more than 2,000 kilometers (about 1243 miles) and is the third longest river in China.
Thank you Francisca for pointing out that the correct way to spell Guangzhou is putting the two sounds together. I grew up in British Borneo were we anglicised words, and this is one old habit that I have not shed.

That's typical Guangzhou alright. Although I suspect a lot of that mist is now badly polluted, my sweetie said it often looked like this when he was growing up there in the '50s.
(Anne, it's now standard to write the double character Chinese city names as one word: Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Xiamen, and thus Guangzhou. Same with other names, like Zhongguo, which of course is middle kingdom, better known as China. The only exception I can think of is Hong Kong. Just a FYI.)

It is quite a nice shot and I would think it was a mist as well, however, we were in Beijing in June and the "mist" we experienced is really smog!! nice photo...
